The Conspiracists follows Noelle Cook (aka Tara), who has spent three years studying women involved in the January 6th Capitol insurrection. Intrigued by their stories, she forms bonds with Yvonne and Tammy, attends their trials, and even drives Tammy to prison. As Noelle plans to write a book, she embarks on a road trip from DC to Idaho with British filmmaker Liz Smith, and former Marine and “Jan 6-er” Yvonne. Just prior to their trip Yvonne is sentenced to 30 months in prison for her role in the storming of The Capitol.

As the journey unfolds, Liz explores Yvonne’s conspiracy-laden worldview, which includes stolen election theories, adrenochrome, and Pleiadian origins. Yvonne shows no remorse for her actions and views herself as destined for January 6th. The trio make stops along the way—at a vigil for insurrectionists in DC, with another Capitol rioter, Tammy, and at a failed "Revolution" event in Pennsylvania.

In Idaho, Yvonne remains optimistic about an impending "shift" that will prevent her imprisonment. Despite her best efforts, she fails to convince Liz and Noelle of her conspiracy theories but finds solace in her resolve to lead her future cellmates through the truth she believes in.
